This piece features an object and characters in perspective, done well so that everything looks to be from the correct angle. There is a strong composition with many points of interest hitting one or more of the thirds lines. The texture of the background line art and warm color theming is also reminiscent of the playful and exploratory nature of pirates shown in media such as One Piece and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Subtleties like the red shirt character holding his hat, the ship being above the view line and the texture in the water conveys motion and that the piece truly is taken from that moment in time.

This was a collaboration piece done by myself and one other person as a backdrop for a podcast on YouTube. The final product features animation done myself such as the boat rocking and the water rising and lowering. My contributions included everything except for the line art of the characters and their flat coloring. The boat, background, logo on the sail and shading/highlights of the characters all being done myself.
