The pug monotype was inspired by taking the penguin print and adding an extra graphic element with the white outline. This further reinforces the contrast between object and background. The outline also adds a cartoon effect to an otherwise naturalistic print. This was also done by a reduction method, but this time the background was left on unlike the penguin print. The ink that is rolled on has a nice texture by itself and the dark tone brings the bright pug forward in space.
