I wanted to push the contrast, color, and geometry motifs that I found myself gravitating to in more experimental ways. Painting is not a medium that I typically work with, however there are some things you can get from painting that it difficult to achieve any other way. I found that physically mixing the colors brought me closer to them and the brushstrokes created patterns within the pattern. The uneven coating with the more translucent dark blue not only adds another layer to how a color is added, but also adds a contrast to the fully filled and opaque red.
